Class #7: Beginning SomaYoga Series

Class Focus: Stay Current and Abide by Sensations

What You Will Learn:

  • Sun Salutation and Variations

The Beginning SomaYoga series will introduce you to somatic yoga through the principles of learning to pay attention, building better habits, progressing well – progressing compassionately, and staying current & enjoying your freedom.

This seventh week we bring our focus to the Sun Salutation and preparatory movements to find this classic sequence with more ease. You will experience the feeling of core breathing, find comfort laying on the floor, and revisit foundational movements of Somatics: Arch & Flatten, Arch & Curl, and Washclot Twist.

Mindful somatic movements will be explored for mobility, along with plank and forward fold.  We invite you into this practice that encourages finding the ‘just right’ movement and posture for your unique body, and personal freedom and agency is the exploration – which is fundamental for therapeutic benefit.

***You don’t need to have attended prior classes to register for this class.
