Nervous System Skills

A gentle, science-informed approach to improving comfort, function, and resilience for people living with hypermobility spectrum disorders, dysautonomia, migraine, chronic pain, and nervous system sensitivity.

What Nervous System Skills is…

Nervous System Skills is a somatic neuro-fitness program designed to help.

The work emphasizes slower, smaller, intentional movements, sensory awareness, and rest as a vital part of learning — not something earned after effort.

Nervous System Skills is especially supportive for people who feel exhausted by traditional exercise, overwhelmed by symptom management, or stuck in cycles of pushing and crashing.

This work supports people in
  • decreasing the frequency and intensity of symptoms and flare-ups

  • improving energy management and pacing

  • expanding comfort, function, and window of tolerance

  • developing clearer, more compassionate relationships with their bodies and nervous systems

What to Expect From the Work

This work is subtle, specific, and powerful.

Neuro-fitness is not a quick fix. Learning new skills — especially after years of compensation — can feel disorienting at times. Growth, healing, and learning often include discomfort, uncertainty, and rest.

Nervous System Skills helps normalize that process while providing tools to work with your nervous system, not against it.

Participants often report:
  • feeling surprisingly tired after sessions (this is common and normal)

  • increased awareness before symptom escalation

  • improved ability to pause, choose, and respond rather than react

  • gradual but meaningful shifts in comfort, clarity, and confidence

  • shedding of unsupportive or outdated nervous system responses

  • improving energy and resilience

What Nervous System Skills Is Not

This is a learning-based practice that supports capacity, agency, and self-regulation over time.

This program is not:
  • medical treatment or medical advice

  • a replacement for medical or mental health care

  • a stretching, strengthening, or performance-based program

  • a “push through it” or “no pain, no gain” approach

  • a promise of specific outcomes
