Nervous System Skills Intro Series focuses on nervous system education and skill-building for people with chronic pain, hypermobility, migraine, and dysautonomia who feel overwhelmed by traditional exercise or rehab.
Nervous System Skills Intro Series
A 6-Week Somatic Reset for Sensitized Nervous Systems
Nervous System Skills is a live, small-group, neuro-fitness–informed somatic yoga program designed for people living with hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD), dysautonomia, migraine, chronic pain, and nervous system sensitization.
This introductory series provides the foundational skills, context, and support needed to continue safely into ongoing Nervous System Skills classes or related somatic and yoga offerings.
Who This Series Is For
This series is especially supportive for people who:
experience fluctuating symptoms, fatigue, dizziness, pain, or sensory sensitivity
feel overwhelmed by traditional exercise, yoga, or rehab environments
want to understand why their body responds the way it does
are curious about nervous system regulation without force, fixing, or performance
No prior yoga or somatic experience is required.
What the Work Is Like
Nervous System Skills uses slow, intentional, and specific practices that support nervous system learning rather than pushing or stretching.
The work may feel subtle, unfamiliar, or surprisingly demanding at times. This is normal.
Learning new neuro-fitness skills requires energy, attention, and rest.
Progress happens through consistency, curiosity, and choice—not through effort or endurance.
What to Expect From the Work
While individual experiences vary, participants often report:
decreased frequency or intensity of flare-ups over time
improved energy management and pacing
increased comfort, coordination, and functional range
a wider window of tolerance for daily life
clearer communication and more compassionate relationships
greater trust in their body’s signals and limits
This work supports learning and capacity-building.
It does not promise outcomes or replace medical care.

Lineage & Context
The Nervous System Skills program is offered through Main Street Yoga-Stoughton, supported by the Spiritual Life Society, a 501(c)3 charitable organization whose mission is to promote self-discovery, growth, and education for all, and healing, comfort, and sustenance to those in need.
The program is informed by a range of somatic and yoga-based traditions, including ongoing study with the Yoga North International SomaYoga Training Institute, while remaining a distinct, independent offering developed specifically for people living with sensitized nervous systems.

Hi, I’m Suzanne.
I am a certified yoga therapist, educator, and lifelong student of yoga whose work bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary neuroscience, pain science, and somatic practices. My teaching emphasizes education, skill-building, and compassion rather than fixing or forcing. My mission is to ease suffering and support Self-realization.
My Approach
At the heart of my teaching is a deep reverence for yoga as a path of inquiry and relationship, not performance. Drawing from classical yogic texts such as the Yoga Sutras, Nervous System Skills is a practice of discernment—learning how to listen, sense, and respond wisely to the changing conditions of body, breath, mind, and environment. This philosophical foundation informs my contemporary work in neuro-fitness: slower, subtler, choice-based practices that support agency, resilience, and functional change over time.
Simple practices
My work is grounded in service, scholarship, and the belief that learning to relate to oneself with clarity and kindness is both ancient practice and radical medicine.
Lasting impact
Students often describe my classes as deeply thoughtful, quietly powerful, and unexpectedly demanding in the most nourishing way—inviting presence, curiosity, and honest engagement with what is actually here.
