Class #4: Beginning SomaYoga Series

Class Focus: Progressing Compassionately by Moving Joints in their Optimum Range of Motion

What You Will Learn:

  • Reflections on Awareness

  • Range of Motion in Downward Dog pose

The Beginning SomaYoga series will introduce you to somatic yoga through the principles of learning to pay attention, building better habits, progressing well – progressing compassionately, and staying current & enjoying your freedom. 

This fourth week we bring our focus to Downward Dog.You will experience the feeling of diaphragmatic breathing, find comfort laying on the floor, and explore another foundational movement of Somatics: Side Curl.

Mindful somatic movements will be explored for mobility, along with movement fluidly from hands and knees to downward dog. We invite you into this practice that encourages finding the ‘just right’ movement and posture for your unique body, and personal freedom and agency is the exploration – which is fundamental for therapeutic benefit. 

***You don’t need to have attended prior classes to register for this class.
