Keeping the Spine in Mind and Pelvic Tilts
This first week we bring our focus to the spine and pelvis. You will learn how to safely work with pelvic tilts, including understanding active engagement and active release of this anterior and posterior functional movements. We will also review details on the relationship of the spine to the pelvis, and explore a foundational movement of Somatics: Arch & Flatten.
Mindful somatic movements will be explored for mobility, along with standing postures like mountain pose, forward fold, pyramid, and wide legged postures for stability and strength. We invite you into this practice that encourages finding the ‘just right’ movement and posture for your unique body, and personal freedom and agency is the exploration – which is fundamental for therapeutic benefit.
