Explore the native prairie, freshwater marsh, and oak savanna habitats on the rolling hills of glacial drumlins. Visit the Prairie Learning Center surrounding the grounds of our facility featuring two pollinator gardens, a sensory garden, a natural play area, prairie seed beds, a monarch waystation, and a self-guided interpretive trail.

The Heritage Center's unique natural setting is only 10 minutes from downtown Madison in William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park and the Capital Springs Recreation Area. It is easily accessed via two major shared-use trails: the Lower Yahara River Trail and the Capital City State Trail.
